About

Our Company Values

For those who are looking for financial advice, we realize the available options are many and deciding who to work with is a challenging problem. Listed below are our Company Values which we hope will give you a better understanding of how we operate.

  1. People Matter – We believe that each person is innately valuable and worthy of respect and honor. We believe that relationships matter and that business is relational, top to bottom. People First, Money Second is a priority statement that places people and relationships ahead of financial matters.
  2. Integrity Matters – We believe that integrity and truth matter. We believe we need to conduct our business in such a way that we are above reproach. We believe suitability and ethical practices come from placing a high value on other people and their needs before our own.
  3. Communication Matters – We believe that communication with our client partners builds and maintains the trust that is necessary for business relationships to reach their full potential. We believe that our client partners deserve the type of communication that is frequent, timely, truthful, & relevant.
  4. Service Matters – We believe that good service is practical and that great service is necessary in the pursuit of business excellence. We will pursue perfection and in so doing “catch a little excellence along the way.” (Vince Lombardi)

Ron Caruthers

President, Caruthers Tax, College, and Financial Solutions

As a California native, Ron Caruthers was born and raised a stone’s throw away from Santa Monica Pier before relocating more inland with his parents. It was in Fullerton that he graduated as the valedictorian from Sunny Hills High School, but Ron and his family were soon met with the difficult and unfortunately common dilemma. They were unable to finance his college education. This setback played a foundational role in Ron’s decision to enter the financial services industry and commit to a career that is devoted to helping families avoid the same pitfalls that he experienced.

With over 30 years in the industry, his financial services have benefitted more than 4,600 families! In addition to bringing peace of mind to clients with college-bound children, Ron’s services extend to address a multitude of financial concerns that clients may bring to him. Due to his creative and effective solutions, many of Ron’s clients heartily refer to him as their “Financial Fixer.”

Beyond serving his clients, Ron has also been an adjunct instructor at Palomar and Mira Costa Colleges in San Diego, California. Ron has appeared on San Diego’s news programs and has been interviewed on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. Additionally, Ron has been quoted in Newsweek, Inc. Magazine, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and other widely circulated publications.

In 2010, Ron was inducted into the National Academy of Best-Selling Authors for his contributions in the national bestselling book Shift Happens. He later went on to author What Your Guidance Counselor Isn’t Telling You and has been praised extensively for the advice he offers in these books, but also for his consistent dedication and prioritizing of the clients’ best interests.

Ron currently enjoys life just 35 miles north of Downtown San Diego in the cozy beachside town of Carlsbad Village with his wife, Sylvia. He is the proud father of 3 children named Jessika, Brennan, and Lexi. In addition to his non-feathered and non-furry children, Ron and Sylvia have 7 chickens and a pocket-sized dog named Scarlett, whose preferred mode of transportation is by purse. He is passionate about helping families obtain peace of mind and is interested in finding creative solutions to address concerns that both new and existing clients experience with their finances.

Plan For Your Future

There is no one “best place” to put your retirement money because each individual and couple has unique requirements, different tolerances for risk, and need their money at different times. Likewise, there is no one place to keep your money that fits everyone for exactly the same reasons. Your unique circumstances must be taken into consideration if you seek to find the “most favorable place” for your retirement money. This is where we can be of service.
